It's summer everyone :) Do you know that the sun actually causes chemical changes in the brain which make us happy?
Also, I've been reading up on why it is that good exam results make us happy- when something like that happens we experience a flush of a chemical called dopamine- the happy chemical :D
Furthermore, I've done work experience this last week and had the time of my life :D
While I'm at it, there is a book called "the Compassionate Mind" by Paul Gilbert- it's an eye opener and I suggest you read it. :)
Keep Smiling :)

I'M A COUSIN AGAIN!!!!!
Babies are the purest and most beautiful things on this entire earth. Yeah you've probably guessed, I'm pretty maternal, but babies are beautiful and faultless and uncorrupted and all they know how to do is learn. I am the proud cousin to a baby girl as of last night, and I'm the happiest person going. She's beautiful and perfect.
Well done to mother and baby, I'm told both are doing well. I'm a cousin 4 times over now!!!!!!! That makes us quite a clan :D and she's the most beautiful baby, I'm besotted and I haven't even met her yet. And the second name was my idea :) I'm not going to repeat it on here though :) But its beautiful, like her.
Mentioning babies is another reason for smiling. Ever noticed how babies don't judge? They just love, all they have the capacity for is love, they are the most loving of all, and most people, I'm pleased to say, will reciprocate that. Next time a baby laughs or cries, listen. It's beautiful. And when you're feeding and you have the milk bottle in your hands, and the baby is resting so peacefully agaisnt you, dosing and sucking almost automatically at the teet without really seeming to think about it, and all you feel is warmth radiating from them and that baby smell and you're having to keep your eyes open because you feel so comfortable you could just fall asleep there and then with baby in your arms, smile because that part of a childs life passes far to fast, I saw with my brother and my sister, it passes far too fast and you'll miss it when it goes. Hug your baby close tonight and tell them you love them, even if they don't fully understand you yet, make sure they know it.
Shining stars in the twilight sky, watch over the babies and infants of the land tonight and every night, keep them safe from harm, and leave them with a night light to give them comfort. Sleep well angels. And my baby cousin, sleep well sweetheart.
Keep Smiling :)

Having A Plan :) (Yes It Took It's Time But I Have One)
I have a plan!!!! I have a reason. Before, I tended to just drift along and see what I could do. I work hard with exams, am fairly good in social situations when I get myself into them, and tried to ignore the bad by focusing on the good. And ok good, thats fabulous and all that, but I've realised tonight that's not the way to live. We've all got to have goals and plans, things to aspire to, things to work towards. Here's mine:-
Firstly, starting tomorrow I'm job hunting. I'm going to be writing my CV tomorrow and job hunting. Secondly, I'm going to increase the amount of time I spend working with the special needs children at sixth form (I know I've got work experience with them coming up soon but I think it needs more than that) also I'm going to increase the hours I spend babysitting, thus increasing my experience with working with children and showing employers how I am trusted. Thirdly, I shall be working part time whilst doing my second year of Alevels and economising, it will become clear why in a bit. Fourthly- I'm going to work really hard to get really good grades in my Alevels. Fifthly, When I have finished my second year of Alevels, I am going to take a gap year, during this gap year I am going to apply for full time jobs. Sixthly- It's always been a HUGE dream of mine to go to America, and I found out tonight about a scheme called "Camp America" This is what I will do in the summer of 2013, looking after children in the camps with special needs (which is where the experience I'm getting now and the money I'm looking for will come in really handy). Seventhly, After Camp America ends (in september) I will be starting University in October. I intend on doing a psychology degree in England, and eventually I intend on moving out to New York with my psychology degree and working and living in New York.
You have no idea how much happier just having this plan has made me. I feel like I have a bit more of a purpose now, I'm not just drifting, I'm doing something and I'm working towards something. Do you have something to work towards? Why do you wake up in the morning? What are you hoping to achieve in, not just your day, but in your life? Have a goal, you'll be surprised at how much better having a goal can make you feel. I really do see the posibilty of ending up in America now, and this is something I've spent my whole life dreaming about. Some dreams can come reality.
Not all dreams of course, I had a dream when I was in primary school that when I was 11 years old Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry would write to me to inform me that I'd been accepted into their school. I wasn't unfortunately, I never got to ride on the Hogwarts Express on Platform 9 and 3/4 or wave my magic wand or meet goblins and Professor Dumbledore. But those were my childish fantasys, the wonderful things which imagination brings. This plan is not a childish fantasy, it is achievable and plausable and because I know this it makes me more determined to do this.
I will get to America, I swear I will, It's been my dream my whole life, and now I can see a way into it and because of that I am so so happy. I can see me actually getting somewhere now.
Try and have a plan, honestly you'll feel the benifits of it.
Keep Smiling :)

Are They Really Bigger Though?
I know I'm writing a lot today. My excitement about Race For Life sort of couldnt be contained! But this just occured to me, and I thought I'd mention it.
We've all been through school, we all know about those bigger mean kids who like to dominate and bully because they feel they can. Ask yourself this though, are they really bigger?
Course, physically they probably are. Physically they probably tower over you, you probably feel like a stick where in comparison they are built like a brick wall. And they have a louder voice, wear better clothes, have a better phone and a little gang of disciples who follow their every move, right? But are they really bigger though?
I'd say, no. They're tiiiiny in comparison. They seem to get their strength, from diminishing the strength of others, and the paradox is that in reality what they are doing here, while it may seem like it makes you weaker, what they are really doing is showing how strong you are whilst showing their own frailties and insecurities in their own lives. You, are stronger because you do not have to feed off others pain to enable you to feel that strength, because you're strong in yourself and that is all there is to it.
Know the expression- "good things come in small packages"? It's very true. Good things do come in small packages. I'm small in comparison with a lot of people, and I know people who are smaller than me and they are the most amazing people I've ever met, and their physical height doesn't slight them at all. Sad and cliched though this might sound I'm going to say it anyway- Size doesn't determine the size of your heart, and the size of your heart is easily the most important thing.
Furthermore, those big bullies might be louder, but consider this. Loud voices are heard, but quiet voices are listened to! After a while all those loud voices of theirs are just going to pale into the background, just become a nuscience that everyone will eventually come to ignore, but the small voices who speak the truth and are full of purity, though quiet, will eventually be listened to intently. So if you feel small in comparison with these bigger people- Just remember all that I've said.
When you think about them, ask yourself- Are they REALLY bigger though? You'll know the answer deep down.
And Keep Smiling Lovelys :)

Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FX31fJYHySI Because I'm on a bit of a female power kick after earlier on and the race for life- give this a listen to girls- Sisters are Doing it for Themselves!
Yes, sisters are! Sisters, mothers, daughters, grand-daughters, cousins, aunties are all doing it for themselves and for all of these wonderful couragous ladies and gentlemen battling with cancer, and for those dearly departed who lost their lives to it.
Aren't we amazing? Look at what we will do for total strangers aswell as for our own loved ones? We helped ladies with every step that we took- Be proud of yoursleves. As sister sledge said in 1979- "We are family, I got all my sisters with me" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TNAQ8LLptUo&feature=related
Go on ladies, if you haven't done the walk already- it's a blast. It really is a fabulous day and it's for an amazing cause- race for your family, your friends, your sisters!
To all those battling with cancer, or for those who have lost their lives to it, and to the families which it affects, you have my wishes and love, along with my promise that I will do race for life every year from now until I am physically unable to do it anymore, and I intend to take as many of my sisters as I can get with me.
Wear it pink sisters :)

Race For Life 2011 (Wear It Pink, Ladies)
Hi everyone. This whole post will be in pink as it's a fitting colour considering what I'm going to be writing about!!!
Race For Life ladies :) Hope you've all been doing it! I have to admit it was my first time this year and I found it amazing. I've never seen so much pink! The weather was wonderful, there was such a mix of people there- Young, old, black, white. People running for people they know who have had or battled with cancer, some people (like me) simply running for all women and to find a cure. It was such a laugh going round, we got some amazing photographs (and hopefully raised a lot for cancer research). The common interest was nice, everyone was there for a cause and that cause is fantastic. It's nice that only the women can run I think, and diligent fathers and husbands and grandfathers were standing patiently on the outside waving to and clapping for these wonderful ladies. The atmosphere is fabulous, there's music and laughing and everyone's in pink or they have pink things on them (I saw about a thousand pairs of deelie-bobbers!) and everone was just wonderful.
Keep up with the race for life, cancer research is a fantastic cause, and now I know I can do it I will be one doing the race for life anually.
Keep Smiling :)
